To be honest, this year's BAFTAs were all about the men - George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Colin Firth etc all looked amazing, but the red carpet was lacking Angelina, Emma Stone, Carey Mulligan, Emma Watson etc. However, the actresses that were there did look spectacular - note to Michelle Williams in H&M?? And Melissa George in Victoria Beckham.

Rising star: Elizabeth Olsen
The 'other' Olsen as she is being relentlessly called this week after her big buzz performances at Sundance...being life long followers of MKA we have always known who Elizabeth Olsen was...slightly less out there than her older sisters in the fashion stakes - she certainly shares their California girl beauty and laid back sense of style. We predict HUGE things for this girl. The 'Elizabeth' of their 'Elizabeth & James' fashion line, she looks a lot like Mary-Kate but appears more serious like Ashley and we think she is going to be a real rising star of 2011. We are loving her style already - M wants those leather trousers!

There's LOADS! What with all the award dinners and parties there's been lots of great evening outfits but then also LA 'winter' outfits from our American friends and of course, our British faves have been doing us proud. Michelle Williams, Rachel McAdams and Diane Kruger have all had great starts to the year. The Diane Kruger silver dress is J's favourite, it's amazing!

No, not the one from Destiny's Child. The other one. The one from Dawson's Creek, the one who is possibly about to score her second Oscar nomination, and the one who has been making JAM extremely envious on the Blue Valentine publicity tour with her non stop stream of gorgeous indie-kid-does-pretty-ingenue dresses. By day she looks like a classic Brooklynite and by night she looks like she stepped out of the sixties - especially with her newly cropped peroxide hair for her current role as Marilyn Monroe. Always loved her since she was Jen Linley (the very least annoying character after Pacey) and her wardrobe of duffel coats and check shirts ticks all of JAM's favourite style boxes. She also had one of the best Oscar looks of the decade.

Double whammies this week from Blake Lively, Kate Bosworth, Fearne Cotton and Jessica Alba. Also in the mix is JAM faves Alexa Chung, Clemence Posey, Emma Roberts, Olivia Palermo, Leighton Meester, Kirsten Dunst, Daria Zhukova and Gwen. Even Emmy Rossum has dressed well this week. Well done everyone.

Thanks to the CFDA awards this week, we've had some goodies from Blake Lively and Alexa. Fearne continues to make us jealous of her wardrobe, Olivia Palermo shows off her beautiful outfit and more beautiful boyfriend, Bilson does typical Bilson-style cool, SJP and Emma Watson glam it up in aid of Harry Potter, Vanessa Hudgens and Gwen Stefani demonstrate perfect airport style and Whitney Port is back on the radar in a fabulous red dress.

She's been on the JAM radar for a while as she encapsulates everything that we love about cool girls with cool style. Her laid back French insouciance lends itself perfectly to the casual masculine tailoring and pretty girly ensembles. She looks like she never makes much effort but always epitomises European chic and our only gripe was that we didn't see enough of her outside of Paris fashion weeks... This looks all set to change as she will soon be starring as Chuck Bass's new love interest on JAM favourite Gossip Girl and if the outfits we've seen are anything to go by, she won't disappoint!

JAM has been watching Emma Roberts for a while - we thought she was very charming in Valentine's Day (granted, it wouldn't have been difficult compared with the manic performance from Taylor Swift) and at the 4321 premiere this week & the the SATC2 premiere last night she showed that she's one to watch in the style stakes too. Her British co-star Ophelia Lovibond looked gorgeous in her vintagey floor length dress - and again the next night at the National Movie Awards. We feel a crush coming on...

Nicole Richie just has on a white vest and shades, how come she looks so cool (although baby Sparrow looks achingly cool, god to be in that family). Kate Bosworth rocks the festival look at Coachella and Kate Moss models a classic Moss look as she jaunts around the Cotswolds. J never looked like that when she jaunted around the Cotswolds.
